Michael R Hines

In the early morning hours of Tuesday 13 October 2026 at Auburn Community Hospital, it was Lord Jesus Christ who called Michael Rodney Hines home. He was born 25 September 1956, to the late Mr. William Hines and Mrs. Eleazar Hines.

Mike attended HW Smith Junior High School and Nottingham High School and graduated from Cayuga Community College where he received an Associate of Arts (AA) Degree. He was a member of Tucker Missionary Baptist Church. Mike enjoyed playing basketball and previously played for the Syracuse Boys Club (Genesee Street) Basketball team. He enjoyed watching his favorite Football team, The Washington Commanders.

He leaves to cherish his daughter Ameena Rochell Hines, four sisters: Akweta Kamu, Celestine Hines, Sondra Hines Yates (Jerome) and Bridgette Hines, two brothers: Jeffery Hines (Gale) and Eric Hines (Margo), two grandchildren: Jazmine Marie Cheek and Jaylin Matthew Hines, two great-grandchildren: Justice Tyrone Wagner Jr. and Jahlani Marie Wagner and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
