Michael Sennett

Michael Sennett, 85, of Jamesville, passed away September 2, 2026. Michael was born in Syracuse, New York, on April 9, 1941, to the late Frank and Frances Sennett. He retired from UPS where he was a longtime Teamster member.

Michael was a man with a heart of gold, generous with his time and spirit, and always willing to give the shirt off his back. He was the friend who was always there when needed and a one-of-a-kind, genuinely sweet man who possessed a joyous spirit. A gentle man through and through, Michael was a voracious reader, a force of nature, larger than life in personality, and the loudest of cheers at his grandson’s football games, affectionately known to all as “Grandpa Mike.” He was unwavering in his loyalty to those he loved, a man of endless curiosity, well read, and highly intelligent. A man who could not be categorized, his outward appearance of camo pants, Hawaiian shirts, and a patterned welder’s hat belied his gentle nature and joyful spirit. He was known as a bicyclist, runner, and tree guy. Lastly, he was the best husband and friend his wife Michelle could have asked for.

He was predeceased by his brother, Richard.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle (McDonald); children, David Sean and Miriam Louise Garrow (Paul); grandchildren, Tracy Resche (Tom), Jacob Raymond, and Sara Helene; sister, Marilynn Roy; brother, Francis “Chip” Clarence (Natalie) and their children, Leah and Shea; and sister-in-law, Robin and her children, Lori and Jonathan.
