Listen to Obituary

Michelle (Shelly) LeRoux, 68, of Clay, passed away peacefully at Francis House on Thursday June 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and dedicated caregivers. Michelle was born on April 14, 1958 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of Marlene Basile and the late Ronald LeRoux. She graduated from Cicero High School, was a server at Santangelo’s for nearly three decades, and loved her job driving school buses for North Syracuse Central School District for over a decade; but her most favorite job of all was being a mom to Camryn — a role she cherished more than anything.

Michelle was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be remembered for her gentle heart, quick wit, unconditional love, and her contagious smile and laughter. She was the best at lending a judgement-free ear and often had just the right words of comfort. While she only had one child, many considered her a second mom.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Ronald LeRoux. Michelle is survived by her daughter, Camryn LeRoux, her mother, Marlene Basile, her sister, Renee LeRoux Creno, her brother, Todd LeRoux, her niece Jennifer Creno-Radler (Emma Finniss, Christopher Radler), her nephew, Michael Creno (Dalaine Bouthillier), her long term partner in love and parenting, Oscar Mitchell Sr. (Malica Mitchell, Oscar Mitchell Jr., Joevon Mitchell, preceded in death by Jamal Mitchell), and a large extended family.

We would like to give special thanks to the incredible staff at Francis House, who provided comfort, tenderness, and dignity in her final moments.

Calling hours to honor and celebrate Michelle’s life are being held on Tuesday, June 16th from 3:00pm - 6:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 6:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212.

Shelly’s legacy of love and kindness will remain forever in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known, loved, and been loved by her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her warm spirit left a permanent imprint on those closest to her.
