Mildred A. Darrah, a beloved matriarch and spirited soul, passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on June 27, 1940, in Syracuse, New York, Mildred was known for her spunky attitude and lively manner of speaking, which endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Mildred's life was one filled with joy, laughter, and a zest for adventure. She had a passion for playing card games, her love for word search puzzles kept her mind sharp throughout the years and she also enjoyed going to Bingo. An avid traveler, she cherished the experiences of exploring new places, often embarking on delightful cruises that filled her heart with wonderful memories.
Her family was her pride and joy. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Becky (Ken) Graham, her dear son, Duke (Amy) Barber, and her cherished daughter, Terry Barry. Mildred was also a proud grandmother to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her immense happiness. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Mildred was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Tonya Hoyt, and her longtime companion, Al Lasalle, both of whom hold a special place in the hearts of her family. She was also predeceased by her parents, Ellen Star and William Emm and her siblings, Alice, Jack, Dorothy, Edwin, Peggy, Chuck, Mary Jane and Arlene.
A visitation to celebrate Mildred's life will be held on June 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212.
Mildred A. Darrah will be profoundly missed, but the legacy of her vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her life, full of love and laughter, serves as a reminder to embrace every moment with joy and passion.
