Nancy J. Burdick

Nancy J. Burdick, born on July 17, 1938, in Syracuse, New York, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025. A vibrant and spirited individual, Nancy was cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She led a fulfilling life, marked by her dedication to family and community.

Nancy's professional journey began with her work at James Square, where she retired after many years of service. Beyond her career, Nancy was a remarkable volunteer, dedicating her time and energy to various causes, notably as a life member of NAVAC, where she left an indelible mark on the lives of those she served.

Known for her feisty spirit, Nancy had an infectious sense of humor that could light up any room. She had a unique ability to make people laugh and was well-regarded for her strong-willed nature. Family gatherings were a highlight of her life, particularly her annual birthday parties, where she would joyfully celebrate surrounded by those she loved most.

Nancy is survived by her devoted daughters, Deborah (Frank) Calabrese and Cindy (Jim) Galuppo, and her son, Kenny (Mary Jo) Burdick. She delighted in her role as a grandmother to eight grandchildren and a great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren. Nancy also leaves behind her brother, Gary (Bobbi) Potter, and daughter-in-law, Joyce Burdick, who will continue to honor her legacy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lloyd and Martha Potter; her husband, Kenneth Burdick; her son, Scott Burdick; her sister, Nina Brown; and her brother, Gordon Potter.

A visitation will be held on October 28, 2025 from 4PM to 6PM, followed by a funeral service from 6PM to 7PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY, 13212.
