Nelson Morales

Nelson Morales, 56, of Syracuse, passed away at home on July 13, 2025. Nelson was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico on January 11, 1969 to Alfredo and Dorothea Morales. 

He was a professional truck driver for over 30 years and was a safety instructor for his fellow truckers for over 20 years. Nelson was a very big family man. His heart was always for his family. He could fix and build anything perfectly. Nelson was a great artist and could always make his family laugh. He made the best grilled chicken. He will be dearly missed. 

He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothea Morales; and brother, Tomas Morales. He is survived by his wife Paula Ilacqua-Morales; children, Geneviève DeBlois, Danielle (Reinaldo) Mercado; Adrienne (Kyle) Durant; grandchildren, Carly Ann and Connor Joseph Durant; Twin Ivan Morales; and brother, Martin Morales; a sister, Carmen "Nelly" Morales; brother in law, Pete Ilacqua; and several nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours are Friday from 5-7:30pm with a service to follow at New Comer, North Syracuse, NY.
