Norris R. Smith, 68, of Central Square, known as "Smitty" passed away Monday at the Syracuse VA Medical Center surrounded by those who loved him. He was a lifetime resident of New York, a WWII Navy Veteran and recently retired from Syroco. Many of his happiest moments were spent at his camp on Cross Lake with his family and friends.
Smitty is survived by his long time partner, Donna Townsend; her children and grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday at 6 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St, N. Syracuse. Calling hours will be Friday from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home, before the services.
