Palmira Dias Padrao

Palmira Dias Padrao, 84, of Lakeland, NY, passed away on February 1, 2026 with her devoted daughter and family by her side. Palmira courageously battled ovarian cancer later in life like the champion she was at heart. She was born in Morgade, Portugal in 1942 to Jose Goncalves Trocato and Teresa Dias De Jusus Curros. She was the second youngest of five children raised on a family farm. She loved all animals and mother nature.

Palmira immigrated to the United States in 1967 after marrying the love of her life, Arlindo Fernandes Padrao. They were married for 65 years prior to his passing in 2024. They were always by each other's side.

Palmira was employed by Pass & Seymour Legrand for 28 years as a machine press operator. She completed her career working 14 more years for Coyne Textile Services.

Palmira had a strong religious faith. She was a long time communicant of St. Marianne Cope at Our Lady of Peace Church in Lakeland, NY. She adored her family, "the three musketeers." She loved being home for the holidays, cooking, gardening, sewing and her beloved dogs, Leo, Lucy and Gracie.

Palmira is survived by her loving daughter, Elisa Dias Padrao (Thad) of Lakeland, NY; her sister, Maria Adelaida Dias of Ludlow, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to her nephew, Joseph L. Padrao and Thad L. Kempisty for all of their loving support and kindness in her last year of life. It was very much felt and appreciated.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 9:30AM, at St. Marianne Cope at Our Lady of Peace Church in Lakeland, NY. A burial will immediately follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland.
