Pattie Laxton

Pattie (Violette) Laxton, born March 15, 1963 in Beaumont, TX, passed away after a brief illness on June 14, 2026, in Syracuse New York. She moved to Skaneateles, NY in 1990 to raise her four children and in 2012 made her home in Syracuse, New York.

Raised in Nederland, TX, Pattie was a musician who continued to play bassoon in her adulthood, as well as a dancer. Throughout her life, she enjoyed watching and supporting her children in all of their sporting and extracurricular activities, thrilled that they had found the same joy her own passions gave her.

Pattie will be missed by her husband, Ron Laxton of Skaneateles, NY; her four children; Amy, Susan, Ken, and Derek; her grandson, Christopher White; her brother, John Violette; and her sister, Cathy Rowan.

Pattie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John Violette and Shirley McCowan, as well as her sister, Debbie Violette.

Pattie’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff at Crouse Hospital, who provided exemplary care during Pattie’s time with them.

A visitation will be held on June 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at New Comer Funeral Home in North Syracuse, NY, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Helping Hounds, or whichever rescue is close to your heart.

Pattie Laxton will be remembered fondly for love of music and sports, her fun-loving spirit, and her deep affection for her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness and love will be carried on by everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
