Polly H. Price-Gardner, 99, of Jamesville, passed away July 22, 2025. A life long resident of Syracuse, Mrs. Gardner graduated from Goodyear Burlingame School and Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science Degree. She was a senior grade History Technician at the College of Medicine and later a Registered Dietitian specializing in geriatric nutrition. She was a long time consultant to the Syracuse Home Association in Baldwinsville, NY and Head Dietitian at Van Duyn Home and Hospital. She moved to the DeWittshire neighborhood in 1966 when she married Dr. Roy Price, a professor at Maxwell School and Education and a former President of Onondaga Community College who death was in 1992. She later married Dr. Eric Gardner, a professor of Education and former Chairman of the Psychology Department at Syracuse University. Mrs. Gardner was active in Meals on Wheels in Syracuse and served many years at the Jamesville DeWitt Fayetteville Manlius Meals on Wheels (renamed Eastern Onondaga County) volunteering in the kitchen and on the Board of Directors. She was a member of Alpha Phi, Junior League, Portfolio Club, DeWitt Recreation Generation, Onondaga Art Gildings, Watercolor Painting Groups and a former member of Skaneateles Country Club. She enjoyed boating and swimming at her cottage on Skaneateles Lake and especially, in her later years, the company of her long time friends and devoted family members.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Candace Burdick. She is survived by her daughter, Georgia (Paul) Migliorisi of Syracuse; step-daughter, Elizabeth (Dean) Bennett of Saratoga Springs; and grandchildren, Stacie (Dave) Savarese, Darbie Giacona, Sean Atkinson, Ned Migliorisi, Michelle (Brian) Douglas; and seven great grandchildren.
