It was about the beginning of February of 1952 when all of the sudden, Randy started his journey into this world. His first stop was Jacksonville, Texas where he spent some time with his parents, Bobby and Jean along with his siblings Mitch and Mike. As he grew, his faith in God grew too, finding him another family to be part of and without hesitation at the age of 14 he got baptized. A decision that made him gleam with pride for 59 years as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and his happiness spread to helping others come to love Jehovah too! He enjoyed many spiritual privileges in his local Congregation that included pioneering but the greatest was being invited to Brooklyn Bethel, Watchtower and Kingdom Farm for a total of 4 years where he shared in harvesting of crops, taking care of cattle and served as a waiter. Though many people came across his path only one stood out from the rest. So, Deborah or as he often called her, Deb became someone special to him as he traveled 4 hours each way on the weekends to visit her while they dated for 3-1/2 years. On October 19, 1974 they married and together they navigated through life, becoming a team. Even starting and running a successful cleaning and construction business for over 25 years then transitioning to a catastrophic insurance adjuster for several years traveling and helping others in need. Over the years he enjoyed playing his Guitar and singing country songs at special occasions and weddings. He absolutely loved to BBQ, go fishing, watch country western movies, play horseshoes and go camping in his RV with his family. Moving on his life’s journey he had to leave behind his brother Mitch and his father and his mother. But, to add to the many cousins, nieces and nephews, his family gained two little blessings (Caleb & Hayleigh) who called him Grandpa with each one bonding with him in their own special way Yet, as life goes on with its highs and lows. He enjoyed having the prettiest companion loyally by his side for 50 years! Though, Randy’s journey has been put on pause we can pick up where he left off by sharing a memory or two with his loving wife Deborah, Mike and Chris, Kyle and Sarah, Tyler, Caleb and Hayleigh and other precious nieces & nephews.
What’s your favorite memory about Randy? Please share it and let’s keep the good times rolling before we know it, we’ll be laughing on into Paradise and there he will playing his guitar and singing once again!
