Raymond C. Overton, 74, of North Syracuse, passed away on May 12, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Lowville, NY, on May 22, 1950, Ray was the beloved son of the late Alden and Martha Overton.
After dedicating twenty-five years to Lockheed Martin, Ray retired in 2010. He found joy in grilling, bowling, playing horseshoes, visiting the casino, and, most of all, spending cherished moments with family and friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Katie Greguire (Rae-Rae); his brothers, Al, Paul, George, and Joey Overton; his sister, Debbie Overton; his mother and father-in-law, Mel and Pauline Simmons; and his brother-in-law, Joel Simmons.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 40 years, the love of his life, Roni Overton (Hon); his children, Rhonda Overton (Skip), Megan Overton (Ryan), and Ronald Overton (Jennifer); his siblings, Barbara Cottrell (Pete), Cindy Overton, and Tom Overton (Sue). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, along with his 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, whom he dearly loved.
Ray’s presence brought warmth and joy to everyone he encountered, and he will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
