Rebecca "Becky" F. Thomson Liberty, 86, of Syracuse, passed away on September 18, 2025. Rebecca was born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania on January 7, 1939 to S. Paul and Ellen (Hunter) Fisher.
Rebecca worked for 28 years at Cottet's Welding Supply where she was employed as a secretary and retired after working 5 years at American Steel and Aluminum. She also tended bar part time at several taverns including VFW Post 9596, Simon-Parise in East Syracuse, for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed playing golf in leagues at Tanner Valley and Arrowhead Golf Course. She also enjoyed crafts, reading, bowling, playing cards with her family and solving word puzzles. She was an avid Syracuse University Football fan and then became a Syracuse University Basketball and NY Yankees fan thanks to her husband George.
Her favorite way to spend time was with her family for Sunday dinners.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, four brothers and one sister.
She is survived two sons, Clint Thomson of N. Syracuse, John "Jack" (Kimberly Trainham) Thomson of Myrtle Beach, former daughter in law, Susan Thomson; four granddaughters, Michelle Cooper, Patricia (Jason) Grover, Arron (Richard) Wright and MacKenzie Thomson; nine great grandchildren, Ayden, Kendayl, Jacob, Alex, Evan, Jaxson, Jameson, Kati, Kailen; George's Family, Jack and Judy Liberty, Larry Liberty, and Cheri Bradshaw, Bob and Christine Liberty, Cheryl Liberty; her step grandchildren and spouses, and step great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 3-5:30 PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals. A funeral service will follow at 5:30 PM. Interment will take place at N. Syracuse Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to Shriner's Hospital, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Golisano Children's Hospital.
