Rhonda J. Seifert

Rhonda J. Seifert, 67, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025.

Born on March 2, 1958, in Syracuse, Rhonda was the daughter of Walter and Myrtle Melnicki. She was a proud graduate of Cicero High School. Rhonda began her career as a secretary at Carrier Air Conditioning, where she worked for 10 years, and later dedicated 35 years to National Grid as a valued clerical employee.

On September 14, 1979, Rhonda married the love of her life, Richard Seifert. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared 46 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Cheryl (Joshua) Smith and Debra (Matthew) Dauphinais, and a loving stepmother to Stephanie Seifert. Rhonda’s greatest joy came from her grandchildren, Natalie and Parker Dauphinais, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her siblings, Elizabeth Reed, Edna (Daniel) Porcelli, Kateri Simmons, Charles (Kathleen) Mielnicki, Martha (Kenneth) Tiss, Luke (Julie) Mielnicki, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She is predeceased by three sisters, Mary Museums, Justine Poplaski, and Stephanie Mielnicki, and six brothers: Mark Mielnicki, Matthew Mielnicki, David Mielnicki, John Mielnicki, Stephen Mielnicki, and Walter Mielnicki.

Rhonda will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to family, and her unwavering love for her grandchildren. She was loved by her family and friends and will be truly missed.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., Syracuse, NY 13212.
