Richard John Gugliotta, affectionately known as “Dick,” 94, of Brewerton, New York, peacefully passed away on November 3, 2026.

Born on September 27, 1932, in Syracuse, New York, Dick was the son of Joseph and Cecilia Gugliotta. He attended Central Square High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army for four years during the Korean War.

On November 2, 1957, Dick married the love of his life, Carol Hunold, at St. Michael’s Church in Central Square, New York. Together, they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and love.

Dick enjoyed a successful 34-year career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Beyond his professional life, he was deeply committed to serving his community. He was an active member of the Brewerton Lions Club for more than 30 years and a parishioner of St. Agnes Church in Brewerton for many years. His dedication to community, and helping others was a reflection of the values he lived by every day.

Above all, Dick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in the generations of love and memories he helped create.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Cecilia Gugliotta, and his three sisters, Sandra, Helen, and Agnes.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Carol; his four children, Michelle (Pat) Hamer, Karen (Randy) Seaman, David (Elizabeth) Gugliotta, and Alison (Dave) Cassella; his ten grandchildren, Erica, Michael, Meghan, Andrew, Amy, Owen, Lauren, Alex, Nicole, Taylor; and ten great-grandchildren.

On his final day, Dick was blessed to see all four of his children and his loving wife. His family takes great comfort in knowing that his last day was filled with the people who meant the most to him and the love of the family he cherished throughout his life.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, November 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, NY 13212.

A funeral service celebrating Dick’s life will immediately follow the visitation at the funeral home at 12:15.
