Richard Rushford

Richard Joseph Rushford, 63, of Mattydale, passed away on June 3, 2026 at UHS Wilson Medical Center.

He was born on December 4, 1962 to Andre and Maryjane (Rudy) Rushford in Syracuse, NY.

Richard owned his own company, RJR Services, where he worked as a contractor and remodeler.

He loved spending time at his camp at Brennan's Beach, cruising on his motorcycle, and enjoying a Dunkin' coffee. You could often find him at local diners, especially Karl's in Lyncourt. Most of all, he loved being with his family. He would often take his kids out to Steak & Sundae, Dance and Skate, bowling, and to do many other activities.

Richard is survived by his loving Son, Matthew H. Rushford (Amanda), Daughter, Kristy L. Rice (Allan Dupra), Son, Timothy J. Rushford (Tierney), Son, Richard J. Rushford Jr., Sister, Violet Myles, Sister, Jeanette Rushford (Bobbi), Sister, Janel Kondakoff (John), Partner, Deborah Manzano, as well as many step-children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Sonny.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Andre Rushford, and Mother, Maryjane Rushford.

Visitation will be held Friday June 12th, 3pm-4pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse, New York.

Funeral services will be held at 4pm, following the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Upstate Stroke Center.
