Robert Rocco Crouse III, affectionately known as Bob, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2025, with his loved ones by his side. Born on February 12, 1957, in Syracuse, NY, Bob grew up in a world filled with laughter, adventure, and the bonds of familial love that would guide him throughout his life.
A man of many talents, Bob was often described as a jack of all trades and master of most. He served as a Construction Superintendent, where his personal and warm nature made him not just a colleague, but a friend to all he worked with. He loved people, and his personable approach to life transformed the mundane into moments of joy. Whether he was leading a project or spinning tales with his signature big bullshitting style, Bob had an innate ability to connect with those around him.
An avid outdoorsman, Bob basked in the wonders of nature. Adventure called to him, and he answered, exploring the great outdoors with an enthusiasm that was infectious. He was also a true foodie at heart, embracing flavors from around the world and celebrating them, often with good food, drink, and, of course, music accompanying every occasion. His love for tie dye illustrated his vibrant personality, which never failed to brighten any gathering, bringing color and warmth to both his life and the lives of others.
Bob's devotion extended far beyond his own children; he was a protector of children everywhere, caring for every kid—even those who weren’t his own—as if they were family. This fierce love and stubborn determination marked his role as a father figure, guiding his children, Robert Rocco Crouse IV, Heather A. Wyatt, Rosemary M. (Daniel) Strong, Stephanie M. (Jonathan) Jackson, Brett A. (Jennifer) Jackson, and Jenifer Jackson, toward a bright and fulfilling future. His legacy lives on through his beloved grandchildren, Parker, Acen, Avery Wyatt, Lillyahna, Angelo Strong, Dominick Corman, Graciella Crouse, Gavin Jackson, and Mason Corkran, and Westyn Jackson, who forever cherish their grandfather's embrace and wisdom.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Tammy Crouse, whose love stood firm against life’s trials. In addition, Bob leaves behind his cherished sister, Rebecca (Gunther) Klutz, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were like brothers, Fred Sanderson, and Erick Matzke, all of whom will carry pieces of his spirit forward in their hearts and memories.
Bob was also greeted at the gates of eternity by the embrace of those who have gone before him: his father, Robert R. Crouse, Jr.; his mother, Barbara A. Ford; parents-in-law, Ann and Dick Smith; grandchild, Vincent Liam Jackson; and siblings Anthony Crouse, Michael Crouse, and Kathleen Armstrong; and his nephew, George Wiemeier; and numerous friends. Their reunion is a poignant reminder of the connections forged in love that transcend the boundaries of this world.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 1pm to 3pm with a celebration of life at 3pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals in North Syracuse, NY. Bob's spirit will be honored as we gather to share stories and reflect on the profound impact he had on our lives. His memory will continue to inspire love and connection among those he leaves behind, forever etched in the hearts of family and friends.
Not only in life did he give, but in death he was an organ donor, giving the greatest gift of all.
In lieu of flowers donating in Bob's name may be made to the Tree of Life.
