Robert Guy DePalma (Bobby), born on December 17th, 1939, in Syracuse, NY, passed away peacefully at home on June 14th, 2025.

He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, whose spirit and personality left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A proud and outgoing individual, Bob was known for his strong-willed nature and his love of music, bowling, and baseball.

He raised his family while working at Strathmore Paints and running Bobby D’s Music Service, his local DJ business he ran for close to 40 years, where he shared his passion for spinning records at numerous events, bringing joy and entertainment to many. His dedication and talent in this field allowed him to create lasting memories for those around him. In addition to his career in music, Bob had a deep-seated love for baseball, particularly the New York Yankees. He spent many years umpiring local Triple-A A softball leagues, demonstrating his commitment to the sport and nurturing a love for it in younger generations. He was also a passionate pro bowler for 50 years, winning numerous championships, both as a teammate and on his own, winning the masters at Pastime Athletic Club, which he was a proud member of for 30+ years.

Bob’s catholic faith played a significant role in his life, guiding him in his actions and relationships with others.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl A. DePalma; his sons, Robert G. DePalma, Jr., and James S. DePalma; his grandson Connor DePalma; his sister Jean Kwasigroch, and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his son, Scott R. DePalma, and his brothers, Gerald DePalma and Lewis DePalma. He leaves behind a legacy of music and passion for sports that he shared with his family that will resonate forever. His passion for life will be missed by all who knew him.
