Robert I. "Bob" Gronau, 84, passed away on Tuesday after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Syracuse. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II and a Marine Corps. Veteran of the Korean War. Robert fought in the Battle of the Chosen Reservoir where he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Legion of Merit.
Surviving are his wife, Grace, of 56 years, 2 daughters; Pamela Gronau, Cleveland, NY, Jacqueline Ennis, Camillus, son, John of Syracuse and 4 grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4pm at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse., with services to follow.
