Rolason Anthony "Tony" Jones, 72, of Syracuse, NY, passed away on June 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Rolason was born in Clifton Springs, NY on September 29, 1952, to Gordon H and Darlene A Jones of Marion, NY.
Rolason is survived by his son, Adam P. Jones and his daughter Rachel A. Jones; his loving partner Gloria Halko; her daughter Carlin McRobbie, her husband Mike; and her grandchildren.
Rolason was predeceased by his father, Gordon H. Jones.
He is survived by his mother, Darlene A. Jones, and siblings, Robin A. Jones Boerman, her husband Tim, Robert Jones, Rory A. Jones and his wife Mary, cousin Barbara Hobbs, along with many other cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
Rolason graduated from Marion High School in 1970 and Mohawk Valley Community College in 1972. While he was known professionally as Tony. To his family and friends, he was also known as Nibbs.
He retired from full-time work as a construction superintendent, having worked on heavy highway projects his entire career.
He enjoyed watching and attending SU sports, NY Yankees baseball, NASCAR, playing poker, and tending to his rose garden.
Calling hours will be at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St N. Syracuse, on Thursday, June 19, from 4 to 7 pm.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 20, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church. Please join us for a gathering to be held at VFW Post 314, 6200 Lemoyne Ave, Syracuse, NY 13208, following the services.
