Ronald A. Cornell, a dedicated family man and skilled professional, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Bridgeport, New York, on May 30, 2026. Born on February 4, 1966, Ronald's life was marked by service, hard work, and a warm, outgoing spirit that touched the lives of many.
Following his high school graduation, Ronald served honorably in the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country and his strong character from an early age. After his military service, he embarked on a career in HVAC, working for approximately two decades at Holbrook Heating. His expertise and dedication extended to the New York State Thruway and most recently to Upstate Community Hospital. Beyond his employment, Ronald took great pride in entrepreneurship, co-owning and operating Cornell Heating alongside his son Jacob, a venture that stood as a testament to his perseverance and close family ties.
Ronald was known for his outgoing nature and his ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him. He cherished spending time outdoors, especially enjoying hunting and fishing excursions with friends and son, Levi, as well as moments at camp where he found friendship and relaxation. These hobbies reflected his love for the natural world and the camaraderie he so deeply valued.
Above all, Ronald’s proudest accomplishments were rooted in his devotion to his family. He was a loving husband to Kim Cornell, his wife of fourteen years, and a steadfast father to his sons Michael Deitz, Jacob Deitz, and Levi Cornell, and his daughters Mackenzie Cornell, Caroline (Curtis) Eckler, and Ella Cornell. He was also a cherished grandfather to Eleanor and Violet Eckler. Ronald's unwavering commitment ensured that his family always had what they needed, embodying the role of a provider and protector with quiet strength and boundless love. He was also very proud of his daughter, Mackenzie and all of her hard work at Christian Brothers Academy.
Friends, family, and community members are invited to honor Ronald’s memory at a visitation on June 6, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., both held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals located at 705 N Main Street, Syracuse, NY 13212.
Ronald A. Cornell’s legacy of laughter, dedication, and family devotion will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His presence will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire through the enduring love he shared throughout his life.
