Ronald DiFulio

October 15, 1937 — July 6, 2025

Liverpool

Ronald A. DiFulio, “Pop”, 87, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, joining his wife Shirley in heaven. He is survived by his loving daughter Lori Sears, sons Kevin (Loris) and Rickie (Patty) DiFulio, his brother Robert DiFulio, and his sister Denise Conti (Ray). A devoted grandfather, Ron also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.

Ron graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1955, where he stood out as an accomplished trumpet player. That same year, he formed his own band, The Star Lighters, and met the love of his life, Shirley, at a school dance. They were married in 1957 and went on to share 67 wonderful years together, always side by side. A lifelong enthusiast of classic cars, great music, and all the charm of the 1950s, Ron could often be found dancing the night away with Shirley, especially to their favorite—the jitterbug.

Ron was deeply proud of his long and meaningful career in law enforcement. After serving with distinction on the police force, he was recruited as a private police trainer and later transitioned into a successful career in corporate loss prevention. He retired in 1993, spending his post-career years working part-time jobs that he loved in Lee, Massachusetts and creating lasting memories with his grandchildren.

In 2015, Ron returned to his hometown of Syracuse, New York to be closer to his family. He spent his final years in comfort and surrounded by loved ones.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday July 10th at 10:30 AM at New Comer Cremations & Funeral, North Syracuse, New York. Streaming services will be available. Ron’s granddaughter Joy extends her gratitude to her Mom, Lori, Ron’s daughter, for the many years of unwavering care she gave to both Ron and Shirley in the comfort of their home.
