Listen to Obituary

Rose M. Brennan passed away peacefully on April 13,2026, at Loretto Nursing Home, with family by her side. She was just two months shy of her 93rd birthday.

Born on June 12, 1933, in Syracuse, New York, Rose was the third of eight children born to Herbert and Theresa (Allia) Pendergast. She graduated from North High School in 1952 and began her career as a secretary at Easy Washer Corporation, where she met Richard Brennan. The two fell in love, married, and moved to Sandy Creek, New York, where they raised six children together.

In 1965, Rose became the matriarch of the family business, Brennan Beach on Lake Ontario, helping build the foundation of a place that would become a cherished part of the family's legacy.

In 1976, Rose moved to Phoenix, New York, and worked as a secretary for the Town of Schroeppel Community Services. At that time she returned to college to earn her Associates degree in Business. After retiring in the early 1990s, she relocated to Florida, where she married Tony Garofalo. Following Tony's passing, Rose returned to New York in 2008 to be closer to family, living first in Pulaski at Springbrook Apartments, then at St. Francis Apartments, and later at Loretto Nursing Home.

Rose was full of life, always on the move, and forever seeking her next adventure. She had a deep love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her warmth, strength, and spirited nature will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by five of her children: Valerie, Timothy, Michael, Richard II, and Michelle; 12grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

She was predeceased by her infant daughter, whom she will be laid to rest beside in Sandy Creek Cemetery.

Services and burial are being planned for June 12, on what would have been her 93rd birthday.
