Rose Marie Tout

Rose Marie Tout, 83, of Minoa, NY passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Rosie was born on September 11, 1942, in Rochester, NY  daughter of the late Ed and Belle Burns. 

She retired from Syracuse University in 2003 where she worked at the School of Social Work. Rosie found great strength in her faith and spent countless hours volunteering and worshipping at Holy Cross Church. One of her greatest joys was becoming a “Nana” to her grandchildren. She was their Queen. Her kindness and warmth were felt by everyone she met. Rosie will forever be remembered as a loving mother, Nana, aunt, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; daughters, Mary-Jo Rosenblatt and Terriann McNeil; as well as her siblings, Ed, Bob, Tom, Larry, and Issie (Sr. Anne Marie) Burns.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kristin (Gregory) Wall; sons-in-law, Michael (Katherine) Rosenblatt and Brad (Rachel) McNeil; grandchildren, Josh (Abbey), Zach, Rachel, Owen, Erik and Noah; sisters-in-law, Elinor Burns and Mary Lou (Jerry) Driscoll; several nieces and nephews and her “kitty” Bella.

Family and friends may call on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 4pm - 7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday December 9, 2025 at 10am at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt. Burial will take place in the Spring at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro.
