Royal R. Richardson, born on February 3, 1942, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy defined by hard work, kindness, and unwavering dedication to both his profession and those he loved.

Royal grew up surrounded by a close-knit family, cherishing the values instilled in him by his late father, Jerald Richardson, and his late mother, Helen Richardson. These early influences shaped Royal into a man of remarkable character—someone known for his attention to detail, perfectionism, and steadfast loyalty.

Pursuing his passion for electrical engineering, Royal earned an associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering from SUNY Canton. In every role, Royal’s dedication and precision set him apart, earning him a reputation as a loyal and productive employee.

While he was deeply devoted to his work, Royal also touched the lives of those around him through his generosity and warmth. Popular with his neighbors and known for his love of animals, Royal fostered a spirit of kindness within his community. He found fulfillment in the simple yet meaningful connections of daily life, consistently placing the needs of others above his own and offering help without hesitation.

He is survived by his sons, Daniel Richardson and Joel (Jennifer) Richardson, and his grandson, Josh Richardson. He also leaves behind his beloved sisters, Patricia Ehlert and Jerrine Regan. Royal’s memory will be held close by those who knew him, including the memory of those who passed before him: his son, Jeffrey Richardson, and his brother, Ronald Richardson.

Those fortunate enough to know Royal R. Richardson will remember his generosity, work ethic, and the steady kindness that defined his life. His legacy endures in the lives he touched and the values he embodied—values that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
