Ruth S. Atkinson

Ruth S. Atkinson, 84, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024.

Ruth was born on March 19, 1940 to Leonard Dick and Arlene Dick (Tafel).

She was a graduate of North High School in Syracuse and went on to receive her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a very creative individual and had an enormous love of animals. She treasured most the time spent with her cherished family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John A. Atkinson; five children, Scott Atkinson, Tim Atkinson, Karen Atkinson, Matthew Atkinson (Carol) and Chad Atkinson (Amanda). She is the proud grandmother of nine; as well as, a great grandmother of nine.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 1pm - 4pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals in North Syracuse with a service to follow at 4pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Humane Society of CNY or the CNY SPCA.
