Samuel McDonald

Samuel McDonald, 57, of Syracuse, passed away on August 27, 2026 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born on July 31, 1969, to David sr. and Irene (Brysson) Roberts in Troy, NY.

For many years, Samuel worked as a Forklift Driver for BCI.

On December 3, 2011, he married Jolie, and together they spent many years in Syracuse, New York.

He was an avid fisherman as well as car enthusiast. He would go fishing anywhere he could, and when he did catch something he would release it back to the wild. Sam would frequent the speedway racetrack, as well as involve himself with anything NASCAR. Building model cars, playing the NASCAR videogame, or watching races always brought him joy. Most of all, he loved spending time, and joking around with his family and friends.

Samuel is survived by his loving step-daughter, Amanda (Jeremy) Smith-McCallops, step-son, Rilee Smith-Vogelsang, sisters, Stacy, Sandy, and Shannon, Brother, David , Jr., and grandkids, James, Savannah, and Natalee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his loving wife Jolie.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026, 11am to 1pm, with a service at 1pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse, New York.
