Sandra “Sandi” L. Bonner Wing of North Syracuse, formerly of Liverpool and Richland, N.Y., passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, Sept. 4.
She is survived by her younger brother Gary (Kathy) Bonner of Liverpool, son J.P. (Earl) of Tucson, Arizona, daughter Jennifer Ling of Liverpool, beloved grandsons Bates and Dylan Ling, best four legged friend Bella, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Alberta Bonner of Liverpool, her older brother Richard E Bonner III of Syracuse, and former husband John Wing of Richland.
Born December 27, 1947 in Syracuse, Sandi graduated from Liverpool High School in 1965 and lived most of her life in Richland raising her family.
She was a member and officer of the Lake Ontario Chapter of the Eastern Star, the Richland Pilots Association, and several parent supported organizations at Pulaski Academy and Central School, where she also worked in the business office and library for 10 years.
In addition, she worked as the ”Director of First Impressions” at Crest Cadillac in Syracuse until her retirement. In her later years Sandi lived at Buckley Landing Assisted Living in North Syracuse where she found her second family.
She was also “Hockey Gah” for her grandsons and fellow teammates.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to niece Sarah Bonner for her unwavering dedication as Sandi’s care coordinator and medical proxy, and to her brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Kathy Bonner, for their constant love, support, and companionship, especially throughout Sandi’s later years. Their devotion and presence brought comfort and strength, and the family is deeply grateful.
The family also thanks the team on 3 West at Upstate Community Hospital Palliative Care.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 10am-12pm. Funeral Services will follow at 12pm. Burial will be held at North Syracuse Cemetery, 555 South Bay Road, North Syracuse, NY 13212.
