Sheila L. (Cleveland) Emborski, 76, of Bernhards Bay, NY, passed peacefully in her sleep on the morning of January 27, 2026, in the loving presence and care of her husband. Sheila was born in Cortland, NY to Ralph and Phyllis Cleveland.

Sheila was a teacher dedicated to the success of her students. She was employed as a substitute in the Baldwinsville School District early in her career, then at Cathedral Elementary teaching Second Grade for two years, for 20 yrs as a reading teacher at Lincoln Middle School in the Syracuse City School District.  After her retirement she tutored reading skills for both public school students and for an adult literacy program in the Ithaca City School District. Sheila enjoyed camping, boating, and driving in the country. She loved living on Oneida Lake, and particularly enjoyed watching the families of mallard ducks each spring and summer.

She had many hobbies including ceramics, quilting and other fiber arts, and collecting antique glassware (green was her favorite color). She had a deep appreciation for hand-crafted items, which she imparted to her children.

She is predeceased by her parents Ralph and Phyllis Cleveland, and her stepmother Josephine Cleveland.

She is survived by her brothers Russell Cleveland, Robert Cleveland, and Dennis Cleveland; her husband Robert A. Emborski; her children Megan A. Barney and Rob N. Emborski; as well as a niece, a nephew, three grandchildren, and grandpuppies.
