With heavy hearts and grateful remembrance, we announce the passing of Shelly Price, who left us on August 8, 2026 at Upstate University Hospital. Born on July 7, 1963, Shelly touched the lives of all who knew her with her radiant outlook and her unwavering appreciation for life’s simplest joys.
Shelly was a bright spirit who carried a positive attitude everywhere she went. Friends and family recall how she always found reasons to smile and brought light even into the cloudiest of days. She deeply cherished the small moments—the laughter shared over her favorite chicken tenders and french fries, and the comfort of a Diet Pepsi in hand. She found joy not in extravagant things, but in the warmth of companionship and the genuine pleasures of everyday living.
Shelly was devoted to her family, treasuring every visit and conversation. She also found great affection among her extended family at the group home, forging close bonds and many lifelong friendships. Outings—big or small—were highlights for Shelly, adventures that gave her stories to share and memories to hold close.
She is survived by her father, Charles Price, Sr.; her 2 brothers, Charles (Cindy) Price, Jr., David (Leah) Price, ; her niece, Catherine Price; and her nephew, Connor Price, along with many cousins. The family remembers fondly the deep love Shelly expressed for each of them and the mutual care that was the foundation of their togetherness. She joins her beloved mother, Elizabeth Price, in rest.
Though Shelly’s absence leaves a profound void, her life remains a touching reminder to seek happiness in the everyday, to savor simple pleasures, and to fill each day with positivity and love. Her memory will continue to inspire her family and friends as they carry her spirit forward.
For those who knew and loved Shelly are encouraged to remember her by embracing joy and holding close the bonds of family and friendship that she so dearly valued.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Lancaster, especially Lori and Mike for the care and love they gave Shelly.
