Shirley A. Burak

Shirley A. Burak (Nana), 81, of North Syracuse, New York, went home to the open arms of her Savior on May 26, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her three daughters Kristan Wager (Wayne), Alexandra Evans (Steven d.2021), Justine Recuparo (Vito) and her two sons Joshua Burak (Kelley) and William Burak II (Dena). She cherished and loved her five children, nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Shirley was a lady of quiet strength, selflessness, and had a dry, witty sense of humor. She held a deep passion for Christ and would always offer a word of prayer, faithful encouragement, or share her faith with anyone.

In her younger years, Shirley loved to craft, sew, play hymns on the organ, and square dance. She was well known for her incredible cake decorating skills. One of her greatest pastimes was gathering around a Scrabble board, sipping coffee and chatting. To her children, she will always be remembered as The Scrabble Queen.

Shirley will be dearly missed by all those who were touched by her. The family will hold a private service in North Syracuse, NY.
