Steven Lewis Aldrich, 74, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at the Abraham House in Rome, New York following a recent cancer diagnosis.

Steven was born on March 1, 1952 in Potsdam, New York, and was raised in Cleveland, New York. He lived a life marked by hard work, humor, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life.

He was predeceased by his parents, Virginia and Winford Aldrich, as well as his longtime companion, Ruth Jones.

Steven is survived by his loving daughters, Kylie and Corrie, and his cherished granddaughter, Piper. He also leaves behind his siblings, Gary, Linda, Katie, and Mary Jo, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

Steven worked for many years in construction, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. Earlier in his life, he spent many years as a roadie for the Mossback Mule Band and Atlanta. Music was more than just something he enjoyed—it was a central part of his life. Through his time with the bands, Steven formed lifelong friendships and shared in countless memories that he carried with him always. Those years reflected his adventurous spirit and his deep connection to the people and experiences that music brought into his life.

He had a deep passion for riding his Harley-Davidson, finding freedom and peace on the open road. Whether it was a short ride or a long stretch of highway, he cherished the sense of independence it gave him. Riding wasn’t just a hobby—it was a part of who he was. He enjoyed Western movies, often spending hours watching old favorites and appreciating their timeless characters and stories. Steven loved animals and took comfort in their companionship, and he never passed up a good meal—especially when it meant gathering with others and sharing in conversation and laughter.

Above all, Steven will be remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to make others laugh, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

In keeping with his wishes, a celebration of life will be held, and details will be shared at a later date.
