Steven Champouillon

Steven Champouillon, 70, of Cicero, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Steve was born August 7, 1956, in Queens, New York, to Emil "Bob" and Roberta Champouillon. He graduated from West Hempstead High School with the Class of 1974 and earned his bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego.

Steve worked for many years at Allied Chemical before beginning a career in education. He later retired as a teacher. As a longtime member of Cicero United Methodist Church, Steve was also a devoted member of the church choir.

As an accomplished athlete, Steve was a varsity pitcher during his high school years and enjoyed golfing, swimming, volleyball, ping pong, and weightlifting throughout his life. Dancing was one of his passions, and he was known as one of the best “Hustle” dancers in the Syracuse area. He was a member of the Syracuse Swing Dance Society. He also enjoyed gardening and landscaping.

Steve was an avid sports fan and faithfully followed the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and New York Rangers. Above all, his son was his world, and Steve was immensely proud of him.

Steve is survived by his beloved son, Alex Champouillon; two brothers, David (Laura) Champouillon and Richard Champouillon; his former wife and dear friend, Kandice Champouillon; and his nephews and niece, Luke, Rick, and Roberta.

A calling hour will take place Friday, 1PM, followed by a funeral service at 2pm, Cicero United Methodist Church.
