Steven "Cal" J. Hamilton, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 27, 2025, in his hometown. Born on February 11, 1965, he was a cherished member of the Syracuse community, known for his hard work, sense of humor, and a deep commitment to family.

Steven dedicated his professional life to sales, showcasing his social personality including auto parts and door-to-door vacuum sales. It was through these connections that he built a well-known reputation as a friendly and approachable figure in the community. In addition to his sales career, he actively pursued farming in his free time, exemplifying his strong work ethic. Steven had a vibrant personality that drew people to him. He was known for his humor and ability to make others laugh, always ready with a joke or a warm smile. He was not only hard-working but also incredibly accepting, embracing all those around him with open arms. Family was of utmost importance to Steven, and he dedicated much of his time and energy to creating a loving home for his wife and children. His sociability made him a well-loved member of the community, known by many and cherished by all.

An avid fan of the Raiders, Steven also demonstrated his competitive spirit as a high school wrestler. He had a profound love for animals and enjoyed spending time with his family engaging in hobbies such as pitch, darts, pool, cattle showing, and bowling, in which he received many awards. Trips and adventures with his children were amongst his fondest memories, illustrating his devotion to creating memories with those he loved most.

His proudest accomplishments were undeniably his family. He is survived by his wife, Leslie Hamilton; his loving children, Lyza Youngs, Steven (Laura Avery) Hamilton II, Jay Hamilton, Howie Lum, Sebastian Lum, Jackson Hamilton, and John-Oliver Hamilton; father, James Hamilton and siblings, Pat Hamilton, Cindy Nappi, and Tom (Theresa) Hamilton. Steven's legacy will also live on through his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his late wife, Becky Hamilton, and his mother, Margaret (Storrier) Hamilton.

Calling hours will be held on June 3, 2025, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Steven's memory may be made to a GoFund Me, helping the family during this difficult.
