Sue A. Sustache

Sue A. Sustache, 76, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Sue was born in Chittenango, New York on July 26, 1950 to Mearl and Fern Burke. Sue retired from Syracuse Post Standard after 37 years where she had worked in Accounting. Sue enjoyed collectables, preparing meals, spending time with family and friends, traveling and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Sue always lived her life for others and was a beacon of light for everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard Burke.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Marcelino M. Sustache; three sons, Marcelino "Marc" (Dee) Sustache, Jr.; Robert M LaMontagne, Nicholas J. Sustache; two Sisters, Vera Costello and Betty Valatka; 2 grandaughters, Angelina Sustache and Holly Scheffler.

"Of all the special gifts in life great or small, having you as a mother was the greatest gift of all."

Family and friends may call on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm.
