Susan R. Henning, born on December 8, 1944, in a world that would soon become her canvas, passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She was a devoted wife to her husband Albert J. Henning for an incredible 59 years.
Susan made a career as a seamstress, specializing in bridal alterations. Her love for her craft extended into her personal life.
As a loving mother, Susan poured her heart into raising her daughters, Sarah (John) Helms and Julie Gross, and her son, Kevin Henning. She was a proud grandmother, showering her grandchildren, Hunter Helms, Mackenzie Gross, and Madison Gross, with affection, sharing delightful moments that will forever be etched in their hearts.
In addition to her family, Susan had a great affection for animals.
Susan is survived by her husband, daughters, son, grandchildren, and her sister, Carolyn Henning. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, David Ross, sister-in-law, Dianna Ross, and brothers-in-law, Frederick Henning, Jr. and Robert Henning who are now joined by her in a peaceful rest.
A graveside service will be held at Pine Plains Cemetery, 8686 Henry Clay Blvd Clay, NY 13041, on July 8, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM.
Susan R. Henning will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, artistry, and love.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
