Theodore R. Mascari Sr.

Theodore R. Mascari Sr., a devoted family man, respected Human Services Counselor, and U.S. Navy veteran, passed away on May 29, 2026, in Syracuse, New York. Born on January 25, 1947, in Oneida, NY, Theodore's life was marked by service—to his country, his community, and his family.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, a testament to his dedication and courage. After his military service, Theodore pursued a career that reflected his commitment to helping others. He was a Human Services Counselor at Home Inc., where he touched many lives with his compassion and guidance. Earlier, he worked alongside his father at Carrier for ten years, honoring a family tradition of hard work and perseverance.

Theodore was not only a career professional but also an active and cherished member of his community. At CNS, he was known lovingly as part of the "band parents" or "the pit crew," always supporting youth activities with enthusiasm and care.

He is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Marie E. Mascari; his son, Theodore R. Mascari Jr., and daughter-in-law Sara; his daughter, Regina Rivera, and son-in-law Mike; as well as four treasured grandchildren: Christian Mascari, Mason Mascari, Marissa Rivera, and Anthony Rivera. His legacy extends to two great-grandchildren, Jayce Rivera and Anthony Rivera, Jr. Theodore also leaves behind two sisters, Jill Tallarico and Mary Campbell, who remember him with love and respect.

 He was preceded in death by his brother, Philip Mascari.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on June 7, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212. Following the visitation, his funeral service will be held the same day at 7:00 p.m. at the same location, concluding at 8:00 p.m.

Theodore R. Mascari Sr. leaves behind a legacy of service and love that will endure in the hearts of those he touched. His life stands as a powerful reminder of the impact one individual can have through dedication, family devotion, and a generous spirit.
