Thomas L. Boyd

Thomas Lee Boyd, 73, of Cicero passed away September 9th, 2026. Tom was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May 23rd, 1953, to William and Faye Boyd.

Tom graduated from Syracuse University in 1978 with a bachelor's in electrical engineering, a hobby that followed him through his career and into retirement.

Tom enjoyed many pastimes throughout the years, including model building, skiing, playing guitar, photography, and gardening, but his most enduring passion was music. He was an audiophile with an extensive collection of records and CDs built over a lifetime, spanning many genres. In his free time, he enjoyed reading books, watching movies, working on his stereo, listening to albums, and spending time with family. He was a loving father and grandfather who cared deeply about his family and friends. He will be remembered for his kind and patient demeanor, his curiosity and intelligence, his generosity and support, and the wisdom he spread.

He was preceded in death by father, William Benett Boyd, and mother, Billie Faye Boyd.

He is survived by his son, Andrew Boyd (Shauna Boyd); child, Alex Boyd; sisters, Susan Rothlein (Lewis Rothlein) and Laurie Hagemaier (Paul Hagemaier); grandchildren, Weston Boyd and Kyle and Kameron Ruggles; great-grandson, Braxton Ruggles; nieces, Dana Krauser and Emily Harrold; and nephews, Josh Harrold, Jordan Rothlein, and Kyle Hagemaier.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 19th, from 1 to 4 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY 13212

His family asks that donations be made to local food banks, animal shelters, or other charities in his memory.
