Thomas S. Dishaw Jr., born on May 24, 1976, in Syracuse, NY, passed away at the age of 49, on September 21, 2025, in his beloved hometown. Throughout his life, Thomas embodied a spirit of kindness and joy, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.
For the majority of his career, Thomas was a dedicated contractor with a strong work ethic. His passion for life extended beyond his career; he was a man of many interests. Thomas cherished the great outdoors, finding joy in hunting and fishing. He was also an avid sports fan, particularly of the NY Giants.
Family was at the heart of Thomas' life. He met his wife, Mary Kathryn Ann Dishaw, in junior high school, and after reuniting later in life, they married on May 2, 2009, spending 16 years together. Thomas took immense pride in his family, viewing them as his proudest accomplishments.
Beyond his family life, Thomas was known for his vivacious spirit. He had a big personality, always ready to crack a joke and lift the spirits of those around him. His warmth and kindness were felt not only by his family, but by friends and the community. He coached softball for 14 years, sharing his love for sports with countless people. He was an avid bowler and participated in a bowling league alongside Mary and daughter, Kaya, creating cherished memories that will resonate for years to come.
Thomas’s legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Mary; his children, Zachary (Annelise) Dishaw, Jeannina (Christopher) Taddeo, Kaya (Jayson) Clark, Alexis Dishaw and Ryan Cummings; grandchildren, Verik Ouellette and Isabella Taddeo; sisters, Neda (Gary Ripley) Dishaw and Nikeysha Menzer; his brother, Tadd Dishaw; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Colleen Dishaw, Sr., and his brother, Robert Dishaw.
Calling hours will be held on September 26, 2025, from 10 - 12PM, followed by a memorial service at 12PM, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse. The burial will be made at Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
