Thomas Francis Harrington III, 71, of Liverpool, passed away on June 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma.
Thomas earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History and Psychology from SUNY Oswego, followed by a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University. His academic commitment paved the way for a distinguished career as a Certified Public Accountant with DiMarco, Abiusi and Pascarella, where he applied his expertise and integrity with unwavering professionalism for 38 years.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Thomas was deeply engaged in his community and enjoyed an active and fulfilling life. For over 20 years, he gave selflessly as a Leader and Treasurer for the Boy Scouts, mentoring young lives and fostering a spirit of adventure and responsibility. An avid outdoorsman, he delighted in hiking and camping in the Adirondacks, proudly climbing several of its High Peaks. He was also an active member of the Syracuse Pistol Club and the Camillus Sportsmen's Club.
At the heart of Thomas’s life was his cherished family. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Patricia (Martin) Harrington; their children, Allison (Scott) O’Marah and Thomas (Silvia) Harrington IV; and his beloved grandchildren, Derek, Alexandra, Aurelia, and Audrianna, who brought him immense joy and pride. He is also survived by his sister, Donna (Jon) Perr, along with several nieces and nephews and faithful companion, a German Shepherd named Lina.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Thomas Jr., and his brother, Mark Harrington.
The family will receive friends for visitation on June 23, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212 with a service to follow at 6:00 PM. Burial will be private in Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Glioblastoma Foundation.
Thomas Francis Harrington III leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and quiet strength. He will be remembered for his steadfast devotion to family, his professional excellence, and the warmth and guidance he offered to all around him. His memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who had the privilege of knowing him.
