Thomas Myers passed away on September 4, 2026, at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born on November 16, 1944, and will be remembered as someone who was fun, enjoyed life, and seemed always happy.
Thomas found joy in the things that brought people together. He liked 50's music and enjoyed bowling with his friends and family. He also had a thoughtful way of keeping others close, knowing all his family and friends' birthdays and remembering the important days in their lives. That attentiveness, along with his cheerful spirit, reflected the warmth he shared with those around him. Thomas also loved attending church and going to the Tuesday afternoon movies with his snacks. He had a great variety of collectables including keychains and shining things.
He is survived by his niece, Kristina (Peter) Olevano, and by Wayne Shoenthal, Kara Shoenthal, and Judy Shoenthal, whose care and presence meant so much in his life. Along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Their support and companionship were an important part of his days, and their love will remain a lasting part of his memory.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Myers; his mother, Lucy Myers; his brothers, Bill Myers, Gary Myers, and Gordy Myers; his sister, Vicki George; his brother-in-law, Frank George; and his sister-in-law, Becky Myers. He now rests in the company of those who went before him, while his own life and spirit remain cherished by those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday September 10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212.
Thomas will be remembered for his happiness, his love of music, and the way he carried people in his heart. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
