Thomas (Tom) H. Parquette, 69, of Clay, passed away peacefully at his home after a three year battle against cancer on July 10, 2026.
Tom was born in Utica, New York on January 14, 1957 to Harold and Ingrid Parquette. He received his degree in Data Processing from Herkimer Community College in 1977. Tom worked as a Systems Programmer for MONY/AXA for 38 years before retiring in 2021. Tom was active with the Boy Scout Association where he earned his Eagle Scout and was a life member of the National Eagle Scout Association. He dedicated his life to helping others. Tom was a Volunteer Firefighter for Clinton Fire Department, Baldwinsville Fire Department and Belgium Cold Springs Fire Department. He was also a Paramedic with the Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corps and a Red Cross Platelets Donor. Within days of the September 11 attacks, Tom was in New York City volunteering in the recovery efforts. Tom married the love of his life, Kathy L. Parquette, in 1991. They shared 29 beautiful years of marriage before her death in 2021. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, woodworking and building computers. Tom was an avid sci-fi fan with his favorites being Star Wars and Star Trek.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ingrid Parquette; father, Harold Parquette; wife, Kathy (Zatony) Parquette and grandson, Andrew Tracy.
He is survived by his step-daughter, Christina (Stephen) Tracy, his grandchildren, Morgan Tracy and Ethan Tracy; his sister-in-laws (Lily,Susan & Margie) and brother-in-law Les (and their spouses) and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
A double funeral service for Tom and Kathy will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm. Kathy passed in 2021 during Covid and no services were held at that time.
A private graveside service will be held at Green Lawn Cemetery, New Hartford.
Memorial contributions may be made to Belgium Cold Springs Fire Department, Baldwinsville, NY.
