Thomas Atonwa "Albert" Smoke, 80, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2020.

Albert was born on January 3, 1940 on the Akwesasne Mohawk Nation Territory to Louis Smoke and Elizabeth Peters.

In later childhood, he moved to Syracuse where he met his beloved wife, Karen, the mother of his surviving daughters, Jeanette Scott (Derek) and Marlene Monroe (Richard). In early adulthood, he was a master woodworker at Crown Cabinet, and a devoted weight lifter and member of the CNY YMCA. In later years, he worked in maintenance for Syracuse Eye Consultants. Some of his other interests were fishing, Native American crafting, and writing poetry. He was also an avid fan of country and oldies music.

In addition to his children, he leaves behind five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nephews, a niece, and several cousins.

He was predeceased by his older sister, Mae Gillette; his first wife, Karen, of 32 years; his second wife, Annie, of 17 years; and granddaughter Andrea Scott.

He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
