Tim R. Mahar, aged 66, of Syracuse, New York, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026. Born on November 12, 1959, in Syracuse, Tim was the beloved son of the late Thomas and Edith Mahar.

Throughout his life, Tim was a devoted husband and family man, cherishing time spent with his loved ones and friends. His enthusiasm extended to fishing, spending time outside, classic cars, woodworking, and repairing things around the house, always accompanied by his signature humor as a jokester. Tim was known for his dedicated work ethic, having retired from the Local 31 Painters Union. He also contributed his skills at D and D Painting, exemplifying a commitment to craftsmanship and teamwork. Beyond his professional career, music was a constant source of joy, and he enjoyed attending concerts whenever possible.

Tim was a gifted storyteller who treasured recounting his life's memories, sharing laughter and inspiration with those around him. His warmth and love left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Thomas Mahar; his brother, Thomas Mahar; and his granddaughter, Greenleigh Mae Corkran. Their memories remain a cherished part of his enduring legacy.

Tim is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Bridgett M. (Paro) Mahar, with whom he shared a lifelong bond. Together, they raised a loving family: daughters Michelle (Herb) Ratchford, Alicia (Robert) Mahar, and Trisha (Kathleen) Mahar; son Thomas (Shalea) Mahar; and Shavonne Geary. His sister Roxanne Meeks also survives him. Tim was a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren, each held dearly in his heart. He is additionally remembered fondly by four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 10am - 12 pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 705 N. Main St, North Syracuse. A service will follow at 12 PM.

Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
