Timothy L. Roder, affectionately known as Tim, 53 of East Syracuse, passed away surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, humor, and generous spirit touched the lives of many.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Roder, and his five children: Timothy Roder Jr. (Lydia), Anna Roder (Cassidy), David Barley, Samantha Barley, and Celia Barley. He is also survived by his mother, Karen Roder; his sister, Amy Daley; his nephews, Nicholas and Colin Daley; and his aunt, uncles, and many cousins.
Tim was predeceased by his father, Louis Roder; and his paternal grandparents, Louis and Elizabeth Roder; and his maternal grandparents, Russell and Jane Allen.
Tim was known for his strength, quick wit, sense of humor and his infectious laugh. Naturally outgoing and cheerful, he had an incredible ability to make people smile and feel at home in his presence. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and if someone needed him, he was there without a moment of hesitation.
Tim proudly dedicated 25 years of service to the City of Syracuse Department of Public Works. Outside of work, he had a passion for classic cars and looked forward to attending the Syracuse Nationals each year. He was especially proud of his 1965 Ford Mustang, a cherished inheritance from his father, Louis.
An avid outdoorsman, Tim enjoyed hunting pheasants and deer and spent more than 20 years as a dedicated trapshooter. He shared countless hunting trips with his father Louis and his beloved hunting dog and loyal companion, Remington, who was often by his side.
A gifted handyman, Tim could build or repair almost anything with just his two hands and a few tools. He also enjoyed cooking and was always excited to try new recipes. Above all, Tim's greatest passion was the people he loved.
Tim's legacy is one of love, generosity, and laughter. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of his friends and family.
