Tracy Banach

Tracy Banach, 47, of East Syracuse, passed away on September 20, 2026 at Upstate University Hospital.

She was born on October 11, 1978 to Stephen and Patricia (Ahearn) in Syracuse, NY.

Tracy worked at Denny's Diner for 18 years during which time she had regular customers coming in just for her, and she absolutely loved to take care of her niece and nephew after getting off work. She greatly enjoyed to draw, listen to music, although her singing ability would be brought into question, and spend time out in nature. There are no words that can truly express how amazing and loved Tracy truly was. Many friends and family members have taken to Facebook to share their thoughts and memories for all to read. She touched the lives of so many people in astounding ways.

Tracy was a truly strong person who fought until the very end, always with a smile on her face.

Tracy is survived by her loving parents Stephen and Patricia, boyfriend, Zanie, brother, Scott Banach, sister-in-law Stephanie, nephew, Layne Banach, niece, Piper Banach, uncle, Joseph Ahearn, aunts, Candy Glenn, and Roseanne Hilborne, and several cousins. She is also survived by the family dog Olivia "sissy," whom Tracy adored.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jean Banach, Raymond and Mildred Ahearn, uncles ,George and Harry Ahearn, and Gary Glenn, aunt Mary Wisniewski.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society in honor of Tracy as an expression of her love of animals.

In honor of Tracy's wishes, there will be no services taking place. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital, Upstate Medical University Hospital, and Tracy's boyfriend, Zanie, for the amazing care they provided to her.
