Virginia L. Confer

Virginia “Gin” L. Confer, 93, went home to Jesus on January 15, 2026 to be at peace in the arms of our Savior and reunited with her son Stanley and daughter Valerie in heaven.

Virginia was born to Don and Helen Gatewood in June 1932 in Kane, PA where she graduated from Kane High School. Virginia met and married Wayne H. Confer in 1952 and went on to have four children, Stanley, Evonne, Brian and Valerie. Later, the family relocated to Bernhards Bay, NY

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Wayne H. Confer, sister Nancy Polkonen, daughter Evonne and son Brian (Debbie) Confer. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son Stanley, daughter Valerie, five brothers, Don, Tom, John, Gerald and David.

Gin loved playing music on her tablet, also drawing and playing games. Her hobbies were cooking, gardening, bird watching and nature.

She was a member of the North Shore Sportsman Association, Bistro Lunches, Senior Group, former Red Hats and Cleveland American Legion Auxiliary and North Shore Golf Club.

She was the heart of our family and instilled in us hard work and doing what is right.

Her love for football, ice cream and dark chocolates was enduring but most of all she loved her best pup friend “Little Girl.” She will be deeply missed by us all.

There will be no services as her wish.
