Virginia Jones

Virginia “Ginny” Jones passed away on August 24, 2026, at Crouse Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on July 30, 1939, in Syracuse, and will be remembered with deep love by all who knew her.Ginny built a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to others. She worked for 21 years at Health Services Association (PHP) in Syracuse as a nurse and service representative.She loved her grandchildren, cherished her Catholic faith, and enjoyed the "occasional" trips to the casino. These simple pleasures brought her happiness and became part of the memories her family will hold dear.Above all, Ginny was the heart of her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Jones; her son, James Jones (Karen) of Johns Creek, GA and her daughter, Cheryl Clary (Michael). She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Megan Scott (Evan), Matthew Jones (Kendall), Hannah Powell (Daniel), Brandon Jones, Jessica Clary, and Sierra Clary. Ginny is also survived by her brothers, David Robin and Richard Robin, and by her sisters, Maxine Robin and Eveline Grimes (Douglas).She was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Klinkenberg, and her brother, Chuck Jankowski.Ginny’s family will remember her as a woman whose faith guided her, her family delighted her, and the time she shared with those she loved leaves a lasting mark on all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals,705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212. A Mass will be held on Friday September 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Epiphany Parish at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1001 Tulip St., Liverpool, NY 13090. Burial will follow at Pine Plains Cemetery in Clay.Flowers are welcome.
