Wayne Mark Baker Sr., 65, of Syracuse, New York, passed away on December 25, 2025. He was born on January 23, 1960, in Lowville, New York, to the late Gertrude Snyder and Frederick Baker.
Wayne was a lifelong resident of the Syracuse area and a graduate of East Syracuse Minoa High School, class of 1977. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Holly Baker, and his brother, David Baker.
Wayne leaves behind his loving family, including his two daughters, Stephanie (Ozzie) and Stacey (Jeremy); his son, Wayne Baker Jr.; and his cherished grandchildren, Justice, Destiny, Jayden, Gabrianna, and Antonio, who brought him great pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister, Darlene; and his brothers, Bruce, Christopher, and Jeff; as well as several nieces and nephews. Wayne was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, and family man who cared deeply for those he loved.
At a young age, Wayne began working with Wheelock Ride Amusement, where he spent much of his working life. He later transitioned into automotive work, specializing in working on cars and removing car parts for customers. Wayne was also skilled in carpentry and spent several years working as a carpenter in Florida.
In his personal time, Wayne enjoyed fishing, working on cars in his younger years, and fixing small odd jobs around the house. He took pride in being handy and resourceful, always willing to put his skills to use.
Wayne will forever be remembered as a stubborn, hard-headed, and independent man, whose hardworking nature, practical talents, and unwavering dedication to his family left a lasting impact. His memory will live on through all who knew and loved him.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 11-1pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse.
