William "Bill" G. Munroe

William “Bill” G. Munroe, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026 at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse after a long battle with cancer . Bill was born on November 27, 1952 in Syracuse , New York.

 He graduated from Cicero High School.

 Bill served in the United States Coast Guard from 1972 to 1976 as an Electronics Technician . After serving, Bill spent his career in computer and information technology. He retired in 2015.

 Bill has always enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting , fishing and boating. He loved living on Oneida Lake. He was an active member of the South Shore Association, otherwise known as “The Club”.

 Bill was predeceased by his parents, Roberta and Harold Munroe.

 Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jo Ann (Wells); his brother, David and his sister, Jo-Anne. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved and will miss their “Uncle Bill”.

 Bill’s family would like to thank the staff at Upstate University Hospital for all of the excellent care over the past 4 years.

 Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 4-7pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cicero, New York on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 9:30am. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
